Checking in

Reflection of the Week

Checking in

I’m hesitant to say happy Friday this week since I know many of you, like me, aren’t feeling too happy right now.

Rather than ignoring the sadness, disappointment, anger, fear, etc., I want to check in and send a note of encouragement to feel your feelings. Or, as one client put it, sit in your “grief juices” for a bit.

This one hurts. And I know a lot of you, again like me, are scared for the future. You’re not alone. We can grieve together, and we’ll also figure out how to move forward together.

I am sending lots of love and virtual hugs.

Question of the Week

  • How are you going to take care of yourself this weekend?

Tool of the Week

It was incredibly helpful when my community checked in on me this week. So consider this my check-in on you. And don’t hesitate to reach out if you need someone to talk to or just an empathetic ear. I also found a few suggestions online on taking care of yourself if you’re having trouble thinking of actions.

Today, you might need (@nedratawwab):

  • Rest
  • Prayer
  • Silence
  • Meditation
  • A long walk
  • A hug
  • Community Connection
  • Reassurance you did enough
  • To silence your phone
  • A break from media
