I’m not really the sappy type; although I have my moments.  And with the huge strides for marriage equality this week in Kentucky, Nevada, and Virginia, it’s hard not to get a little caught up in the moment.

So as we celebrate the “day of love,” I want to give a shout out to my valentine. A public declaration of love and admiration for the man who among many other things picks me up from work when it’s too cold outside, greets me fondly whenever he sees me, reads every blog post I write, and tries to resolve arguments even when I don’t want to.

You are special to me.  I am grateful for your love and feel so lucky to have you in my life. And, of course, I can’t wait to marry you.
